CADRE invites you to the report release on a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) project on School Discipline. The event will be a presentation featuring the information found through our yearlong process of this HIA with partners from Oakland, CA and Salinas, CA. The presentation will include project collaborative partners, CADRE parents and staff as well as special guest speakers.

Site-specific conclusions for Los Angeles, Oakland, and Salinas will be available in the full release of the report and most salient findings will be included in the presentation. The presentation will also feature recommendations for school administrators, school board members, policymakers, and law enforcement officials, which were developed with the help of the collaborative partners and parent leaders from CADRE as well as those developed by our partner sites.  This project was initiated in order to add a health lens to school discipline practices and expand the growing number of studies showing the negative impacts of zero tolerance discipline policies and school pushout.
