We are excited to share the release of “Building Narrative Power: Lessons on Storytelling for Education Justice,” a new report from the Dignity in Schools Campaign (DSC). This document explores how we are working with our members and communities to use storytelling and narrative work to challenge school pushout, the school-to-prison pipeline, and harmful discipline policies.
This release includes case studies from Chicago, Duck Hill, MS and the Twin Cities, showing how community organizing has shifted local policies and redefined safety and justice in schools. It also highlights key areas where narrative power can continue to drive change, including rethinking zero-tolerance policies and addressing the spread of surveillance technologies in schools.
