As part of our ongoing commitment to embodying our principles and power, the Dignity in Schools Campaign (DSC) is proud to unveil our new logo. This visual identity marks an evolution — one that more deeply reflects who we are, what we do, and how we do it. Below are key reasons for the change and how the new logo is aligned with our work.
Why the Change
From “representation” to “amplification: The old handprint symbolized presence, identity, and dignity. Our new logo, featuring a megaphone, shifts the focus to amplifying the voices of those most impacted — affirming that DSC does not only stand for dignity, it lifts up voices, drives collective power, and calls for systemic change.
Reflecting multi-faceted strategy: DSC’s work spans more than protests or awareness; we engage in research, policy development, leadership development, regional and national coalition building, and capacity-building. Our logo needed to signal all these dimensions,
Better communicating urgency & participation: Our fights — against school pushout, against discriminatory discipline, policing in schools — are all urgent and demand full participation. The megaphone communicates both urgency and invitation: we call on youth, parents, educators, policy makers to participate, not just observe.

How the New Logo Aligns Better with DSC’s Mission & Vision
Our new logo conveys voice, agency, direction. It emphasizes that DSC is not merely defending dignity but advocating, shaping systems, and demanding rights.
Further, our new logo signals both internal strength through leadership development and support to members and external influence on policy, public narratives, and structural change.

We’d like to publicly appreciate author, Illustrator, Poet and Social Justice Artist Devon Blow, who collaborated with us to design our new logo mark!
