Field Organizer Job Announcement – Applications Due August 23rd
The Field Organizer works collaboratively with the DSC national Coordinating Committee (made up of representatives from member organizations located across the country), campaign members and DSC staff. In particular, the Field Organizer builds DSC’s base and leadership in affected communities across the country, and supports local member organizations in their campaigns to end school pushout through training, capacity-building, leadership development, exchanges and the distribution of member support funds to groups on the ground.
The Field Organizer works as part of a five-person team with the DSC Program Director, Campaign Coordinator, Communications Coordinator and Administrative Coordinator, based in different parts of the country. Our staff work within a democratic, member-led coalition structure that places affected communities at the center of our decision-making. We value dedication, a collaborative work ethic, and accountability to our grassroots membership bases. The Field Organizer will be supervised by the DSC Program Director in collaboration with the DSC Supervision and Governance Committee made up of Coordinating Committee member organizations.
